# ctlsurf

> A shared notebook your AI coding agent reads AND writes to via MCP.

ctlsurf is a collaborative notebook for AI coding agents. CLAUDE.md is read-only — you write instructions, the agent reads them, but nothing comes back. ctlsurf is read-write — the agent documents what it built, what it decided, and what it skipped. Next session, it picks up where it left off.

## How it works

ctlsurf connects to AI coding assistants via MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard created by Anthropic. Any MCP-compatible tool can read and write to your ctlsurf notebook.

1. Connect your AI coding tool (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf) via MCP
2. The agent reads your architecture decisions, past work, and pending tasks at session start
3. As it works, the agent documents what it built, decided, and skipped
4. Next session picks up where the last one left off

## Key features

- **Persistent shared state**: Architecture decisions, coding standards, and past work survive across sessions
- **Structured task completion**: Agents document what they built, assumed, attempted but failed, and simplified or skipped

- Business ($20/seat/month): 50% more than Pro per seat (30 projects, 15 GB storage,
  30,000 API calls, 150 project skills), plus a shared organization workspace,
  owner/admin/member roles, 1,000 managed transcription minutes per seat, and
  per-seat usage analytics with spend caps
